A Mom's Year

Creating a comfortable life one moment at a time

Soul Mate

This quotation from Elizabeth Gilbert is too long to fit on a Mug of Wisdom, but I had to share it anyway. It’s feeling very true around here these days.

Wow! So very true! Those of us with a soul mate need to really count our blessings for the better people they help to make us! Thanks for the reminder Shannon!

I appreciate this, and your mugs of wisdom, in general. Your encouraging comment on my Christmas post reminded me to continue thinking about how to live (and blog) in a way that is both substantive and real. How do I acknowledge both the holy and common in life? I appreciate this balance on your blog.

Welcome

Hello! My name is Shannon Taylor. I'm a long-time writer and editor from Minnesota surprised to find myself on an island in the Pacific Northwest. I'm sharing this adventure with my husband, three younger children (our oldest goes to college in Chicago), and two dogs. This blog is where I gather my thoughts and share my favorite things. I hope you find something here to inspire you and maybe even help you feel a little more ready to tackle your day.
