A Mom's Year

Creating a comfortable life one moment at a time

October 14, 2011

Happy Weekend

I’ll be at Barnes and Noble tomorrow for book club, so I’m hoping they have Weekend Handmade in stock. I’ve heard great things about this book—maybe it’ll have some good ideas for Christmas gifts. In the meantime, here are some fun links for the weekend.
  • Toddler-friendly leaf rubbing project.
  • These pumpkin caramels and chocolate pumpkin cupcakes look insanely good.
  • DIY glow-in-the-dark spider web treat bag.
  • These cute kids’ dishes are made of corn (not plastic), if you can believe it.
  • Nutter butter ghosts. Thank you, Marta!
  • Kid project: cereal box guitar.
  • Broomstick favor bags for Halloween.
  • These sour cream and chicken enchiladas look delicious.

Do you have big plans for the weekend? We’re finally getting proper fall weather (50s) to go with the changing leaves. Our Saturday is way too busy, but Sunday should be nice and relaxing. Have a great weekend and I hope to see you back here on Monday!

Welcome

Hello! My name is Shannon Taylor. I'm a long-time writer and editor from Minnesota surprised to find myself on an island in the Pacific Northwest. I'm sharing this adventure with my husband, four kids, and two dogs. I “published” my first newsletter when I was nine, and I’ve loved sharing ideas, stories, and information ever since. I hope you find something here to inspire you and help you create a comfortable, cozy life.
