A Mom's Year

Creating a comfortable life one moment at a time

Little Things / Pampering with Que Bella

I have to warn you: this is quite possibly the silliest thing I’ve posted yet. And that’s saying something.

It all started when I bought these:

A 13-year-old family friend had broken her foot and the kids and I wanted to send a care package to cheer her up. So we went to Target and bought some hot cocoa mix and treats to nibble on and a book and a few packets of Que Bella Bath & Beauty products. I fell for the bright packaging and the tempting titles: Chocolate Face Mask, Creme Brulee Body Scrub, and Raspberry Smoothie Body Butter. Yum! We bought a few extra ones to keep.

We sent the package off with our best wishes for a full recovery. I was thrilled that I managed to send something before the cast came off. So far, so good.

I thought the little packets were so cheerful and fun that I wanted to share them with you. At about $2.00 each, I wouldn’t use these on a daily basis. But for a gift or as a pick-me-up when you need one, I think they’re great.

I asked Lexie to hold the packets so I could snap a photo. And I could have stopped there. I probably should have. But I thought it would be fun to show us actually using the products.

So I put the Chocolate Face Mask on Lexie and the Dead-Sea Mud Mask on myself. We each grabbed a book and did our best re-enactment of a scene from a spa. Here we are looking nonchalant. Because, you know, we do this every day:

Tim, who was on photographer duty, said, “Maybe you should look a little less serious. You’re supposed to be at a spa, not a meeting on Global Warming.” True.

So we tried to look a little more relaxed:

And then Lexie, who was pretending to read The Hunger Games, said, “There goes another one.” (Which, if you’ve read The Hunger Games, you’ll understand. And, if you haven’t, well, trust me when I say that everything in that book is the opposite of relaxed and funny.)

So we lost it completely:

Although it’s hard to laugh when you can’t actually move your facial muscles.

I will probably not send these photos to Que Bella for use in future promotions. Unless they ask.

Let me know if you see Que Bella products in your local Target—or wherever you shop—and what you think if you give them a try. And if you have a Little Thing that cheers you up or makes your day a little brighter, please send it in and I’ll post it for everyone!

I’m glad it helped, Allison! Maybe you and your girls have had a pampering session or two?

The book is….. Really interesting. How’s that?!? Horrible but compelling. I don’t have a lot of tolerance for too much darkness in books right now because I need some levity, but there was enough soul in the book to make me want to read the next one. Let me know what you think if you read it.
