We’ve been filling out our Year in Review sheets this week. They’re great for the kids, of course, but I think it’s fun to see how our tastes and interests change from year to year as adults, too. Wouldn’t it be great to pull these out when the kids are older (or have kids of their own) so they can see what their younger selves were like?
If you have younger kids, you can “interview” them and write down the responses yourself, but then have them do some illustrations. A handprint on the back of the page would be nice, too.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record (“A broken what?” my kids would say), it’s so important to Write Things Down. We’re certain we’ll remember every milestone and every funny and wise thing our kids say, but the years go by and new memories pile on and it’s so easy to forget. My Year in Review is a simple way to take a quick snapshot of what’s happening in your lives in this fleeting moment.
