Creating a comfortable life one moment at a time

An Eight-Year-Old’s To-Do List

Lily showed me her to-do list for tomorrow morning. I love getting a glimpse into the inner workings of an eight-year-old brain. I read through the list and had to laugh because this all takes place before lunch!

In case you don’t read Second Grader, here’s what it says:

I wake up in the morning
I stay in bed
I put on socks
I go downstairs
I hug Mom and Dad
I play with my stuffed animals
I get dressed
I play with my dog
I brush my teeth
I wash my face with a wash cloth
I comb my hair
I paint
I have a snack
I run around the house
I take a rest
I eat some candy
I go to the bathroom
I watch TV
I take a nap
I play with my American Girl dolls and my Barbies
I play games
I see the cat
I chew some gum
I play with silly putty
I ice skate
I Craft-a-Day
I eat lunch

Do you remember what kinds of things would have been on your to-do list when you were eight? I’m sure my list would have included reading Laura Ingalls Wilder and Trixie Belden and playing with my Bremer horses and Sunshine Family dolls. (Does anyone else remember the Sunshine Family? I loved those dolls!)

Yes, Lily likes to be busy. All The Time. One of the best things about her is she loves to help with everything.
